Quick Answer
For everyday Triana Topo suede care, brush gently with a suede brush and spot clean with a suede eraser. Avoid water and store in a cool, dry place.
Why Taupe Suede Needs Special Care
Taupe suede, like the finish on your Triana Topo flats, is delicate and prone to staining and water damage. Its soft texture shows dirt and scuffs easily, but with the right routine, you can keep them looking fresh for years.
The Triana Topo's suede is a soft, napped leather that requires gentle handling. Harsh cleaners or too much water can ruin the nap and cause discoloration.
Diagnose & Fix Your Suede Problem
- Symptom: Light scuff or dirt mark: Gently rub the area with a suede eraser or a clean pencil eraser in one direction. Then brush with a suede brush to restore the nap. Check if the mark is gone. If not, move to the next step.
- Symptom: Grease or oil stain: Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth. Sprinkle cornstarch or talcum powder on the spot and let it sit for 2-3 hours. Brush off the powder gently. If the stain remains, consider professional cleaning. Do not rub the stain further.
- Symptom: Water stain or overall dullness: Lightly dampen a clean cloth and blot the entire shoe evenly, not just the stain. Let the shoes air dry away from heat. Once dry, brush to lift the nap. If the stain persists, the nap may be crushed. Steam the area gently (hold the shoe over a kettle spout) and brush again.
